Healing Arts Scotland was a week-long, nationwide celebration of the arts on mental, physical and social health in August 2024.
The campaign directly informed the integration of arts-in-health practices into Public Health Scotland's programmes for tacking health inequity, which affect over 5.4 million people in Scotland.
Presented by the Jameel Arts & Health Lab and Scottish Ballet, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the 2024 initiative featured 376 events across the country, engaging over 11,000 people.
In January 2025, the Jameel Arts & Health Lab and Scottish Ballet presented the Healing Arts Scotland impact report at the Scottish parliament in Edinburgh and designated Scottish Ballet as a Jameel Arts & Health Lab Healing Arts Centre of Excellence in recognition of its role in advancing creative health solutions.
Healing Arts Scotland is part of the global Healing Arts campaign created by the Jameel Arts & Health Lab in collaboration with WHO.
