Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo opens call for applications for 2023 intake

The Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo has opened its call for applications for the 2023 intake of its diploma programme.

During the two-year programme, students at the Jameel House specialise in ceramics, glass and gypsum, metalwork and woodwork, and study a range of modules including traditional Islamic geometry, drawing, colour harmony and arabesque studies.

Upon completing their studies, graduates of the Jameel House diploma programme will receive a foundation certificate awarded by The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, and will have developed a deep understanding of the principles and practical applications of traditional arts, allowing them to pursue career opportunities across multiple fields including the arts, heritage conservation, architectural preservation and creative industries.

Interested applicants should submit a completed application form and their portfolio in person at the Jameel House in Cairo, located at the Fustat Centre for Traditional Arts, Sundays to Thursdays from 10h00 to 15h00. The deadline for applications is 24 August 2023. Applicants selected to move to the next round of the process will be required to complete an entry exam on 31 August 2023.
