The Jameel Arts & Health Lab has established a network of Healing Arts Centres of Excellence, comprising cultural institutions that champion the transformative power of the arts in health and wellbeing.
The Healing Arts Centres of Excellence designation recognises outstanding global leadership at the intersection of arts and health.
The first Healing Arts Centre of Excellence, Carnegie Hall in New York, was announced in 2024 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The second, Scottish Ballet in Glasgow, was announced on 21 January 2025 during the launch of Healing Arts Scotland Impact Report at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.
Aligned with global health priorities set by the World Health Organisation, these centres collaborate with the Jameel Arts & Health Lab on advancing local, national and global arts and health research and best practices, while championing the role of cultural institutions and artists as essential partners in public health.
