2025 Drylands Summer School

With the theme 'Building resilience from below in the face of chronic uncertainty in the drylands', the 2025 Drylands Summer School will be held at Camp Simpirre in Isiolo, Kenya, for around 30 practitioners.

Exploring technical and policy challenges with leading experts in the field, the Drylands Summer School is organised and supported by:

• the Jameel Observatory for Food Security Early Action‍
• the Centre for Research and Development in Drylands
• the Feinstein International Centre at Tufts University
• the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research
• the International Livestock Research Institute.

Keynote presentations will be delivered by:

• Gufu Oba, professor emeritus of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and director of the Gaadisa Gummi Foundation
• Ian Scoones, professorial fellow at the Institute of Development Studies and leader of the PASTRES project
