Africa launch of the Jameel C40 Climate Action Guide

On 19-21 February 2025, the Jameel C40 Urban Planning Climate Action Labs and UrbanShift come together for the Africa launch of the Climate Action Guide for Urban Planners at the UrbanShift Africa Forum 2025.

The guide will be featured at two sessions:

• 19 February: An open session, entitled ‘Climate resilient urban planning’, on the third day of the UrbanShift Africa Forum 2025.
• 20-21 February: A closed-door session for technical officials entitled ‘City Academy: Accommodating urban growth’.

During the two-day closed-door session, participants engage in interactive discussions and exercises led by C40 Cities, examining real-world urban planning policies and regulations, bringing together urban planners, policymakers and city officials from across Africa and beyond. These practical activities reinforce key concepts, helping attendees gain not only theoretical knowledge but also the skills to integrate climate change considerations into urban planning in their own cities.
