Clara Barbier Serrano | Les Arènes Lyriques

26 July 2024 - 17 August 2024
20h30
Arènes de Montmartre, Paris

Former Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel scholar Clara Barbier Serrano performs at the 2024 edition of Les Arènes Lyriques, Montmartre's concert.

Held in a little-known arena garden in Montmartre, Paris, each year, Les Arènes Lyriques brings together a unique group of young soloists, including violinists, singers and pianists, to perform an ephemeral musical programme, devised by them and performed just ten times.

This summer, French soprano Clara performs solo pieces as well as part of ensembles with other early-career musicians, all accompanied by musicians from the Ostinato Orchestra. The musical programme, with arrangements by Loan Boulat and David Walter, include Wagner's 'La Mort d’Isolde', Tchaïkovski's 'Souvenir d’un lieu cher : I. Méditation', and Parra's 'Gracias a la vida', among others.

Clara was the first recipient of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel Scholarship, which was established in 2019 to support emerging opera talent to study full-time at the Royal College of Music in London.
