Community Jameel and C40 Cities convene government officials, partner representatives and key stakeholders on 28 March 2024 at the Taj Connemara in Chennai, India, for a series of presentations, panel discussions and fireside chats to promote master planning as a tool to accelerate climate action and alleviate poverty.
The Jameel C40 Urban Planning Climate Lab, a collaboration between Community Jameel and C40 Cities, is partnering with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), the World Bank and the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) to align city plans with climate goals: to realise greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, adapt to the impacts of climate change and deliver wider socio-economic and environmental co-benefits through generation and integration of high-quality data to inform evidence-based decision making.
