The Legatum Centre for Enterpreneurship and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) recognised Community Jameel as one of the "leading philanthropic organisations supporting entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems regionally and globally" in a recent report.
Published in December 2024, 'The role of philanthropy in entrepreneurship and innovation: The case of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)' cited Community Jameel's support for scientists, humanitarians, technologists and creatives to understand and address pressing human challenges.
The report highlighted Community Jameel's support to "world renowned centres and initiatives", including the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab and the Jameel Clinic, all at MIT.
The report also recognised Alfanar, Drosos Foundation, INJAZ, Qatar Foundation, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies Foundation and Skoll Foundation in the same category of leading philanthropic organisations.
Part of the MIT Sloan School of Management, the Legatum Centre was founded in 2007 on the belief that entrepreneurs and their innovation-driven solutions are key to advancing sustainable and inclusive prosperity in global growth markets.
