The Jameel Observatory Climate Resilience Early Warning System Network (Jameel Observatory-CREWSnet) launched by Community Jameel and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will partner with BRAC, an international development organisation, to pilot innovative climate-adaptive technologies in the south-west region of Bangladesh and Sudan. The Jameel Observatory-CREWSnet platform will empower agricultural communities in climate vulnerable countries to prepare for and respond to the impacts of climate change. Selected as an innovation sprint at the 2023 summit of the Agriculture Innovation Missions for Climate (AIM4C), a joint initiative of the United States and the United Arab Emirates, the project is led by Elfatih Eltahir, co-director of the Jameel Observatory, a research platform that uses data and evidence to prepare and act against climate shocks.
